The Business Case

On 15 September 2014 Minister for Capital Metro, Simon Corbell, announced that the Capital Metro Business Case had been approved and the project was proceeding.

In approving the project, the ACT Government announced it would release the Business Case as part of its commitment to delivering the project in an open and transparent manner.Artist impression of light rail on Northbourne Avenue

The Business Case entails the design and construction of a 12 km light rail route from the City to Gungahlin with associated stop, depot, road, signalling and preparatory works and the ongoing operation and maintenance of the light rail system. You can find the Business Case in full below.

The release of the Business Case coincides with the start of the project’s procurement process, through Capital Metro’s Invitation for Expressions of Interest.
